Doriana started dancing acrobatic Rock 'n Roll and Boogie Woogie in her native country (Italy) before she relocated to the States in 1990. In New York City, she began to study and focus on the Lindy Hop and other 1940's swing era dances. While there, she had marvelous opportunities to watch and learn from the remaining "old timers" who continued to go out and dance like Dawn Hampton, Frankie Manning, Charlie Mead and Etta Dixon.
Some of her performances include: NBC's "Today show", the Off-B'way play, Shakespeare "As you like it", Mid Summer Night Swing "dance festival" at Lincoln Center, and "A Night with Tony Bennett" at Radio City Music Hall.
She was also a guest choreographer for Swing Dance America, a touring swing dance company, and was the swing teacher at "You Should Be Dancing" dance studio in New York City. Doriana moved to Paris in September 2006, where she teaches, performs and organizes dance events. She is one of the organizers as well as a teacher of CAMPITALIA in collaboration with the "Summer Jamboree Festival" in Senigallia, Italy.
As an instructor, she enjoys teaching a combination of skills ranging from partner connection, to movement, styling, and musicality. In her classes, she shares her love of dance with her students by helping them to become more connected to the music and their partner. Her patience and easygoing manner inspire confidence amongst her students. She is also liked for her genuine, simplicity and kindness.
The combination of different styles of dancing, her footwork, her musicality and her elegance make her dance style unique. You can contact Doriana by
